The word is out… Tossed is the leader of the salad revolution! Mission Statement: To fashion the salad into a mainstay of the American fast casual dining experience and to establish a reputation for serving the best tasting, highest quality salads and other lunch and dinner items in a comfortable environment. Company History: Tossed was conceived in the summer of 1997. The idea was to fill a then existing gap in the foodservice industry. The vision was for a unique, quick-service, casual restaurant that featured made-to-order salads, sand-wiches and crepes. In July 1998, on Park Avenue South in New York City, Tossed opened its doors to an eagerly awaiting public. Upon opening, Tossed was immediately well received by its customers. Shortly thereafter, The New York Times, New York Magazine, Time Out NY, New York Post, Daily News, Chef Magazine and Nation's Restaurant News, among others, all recognized Tossed as the pioneer of a new genre. As the demand for Tossed grew, Tossed opened its second location in the summer of 2000 in what is considered the center of New York: Rockefeller Center. Its success confirmed the popularity of the Tossed concept, as it was as well received there as it had been at the Park Avenue South location In March of 2004, the founders of Tossed teamed up with new partners that have over 30 years of Franchise experience to help execute their goals of opening additional Tossed units outside of New York City and creating a fran-chise company to expand Tossed nationally. Today, Tossed has presence is Northern California, Houston, Atlanta, Boston, Indianapolis, Knoxville, Nashville and South Florida as well as 65 locations under development.
